Year in Review.

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
I finally got a tattoo and I want more.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Nah brah, I can never remember what I say I'm going to do

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Almost

5. What countries did you visit?
I'm visiting Canada for New Years! Going to cheesy Montreal 80s clubs!

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Continued realization of how things are.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Feb. 15...realization of how things are.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I fuckin went swimming. With strangers. First time in almost 8 years.

9. What was your biggest failure?
My lack of confidence. (but its improved ten fold already)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope. I did pretty good this year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new truck. Now I can go places and not die!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Zack's.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Cross out appalled and depressed and replace with "regretful of the amount of tact used" and I'll say me.

14. Where did most of your money go?
I could say something cool but probably just booze, let's be realistic.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Visiting Richmond and for new paths ahead.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
There are way way too many. I will say Atlas. I have good memories of that.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?: happier
ii. thinner or fatter? I'll say fatter
iii. richer or poorer? not by much, but richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
more house parties

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
worry

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
On the cape with the fam.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Nope

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
The office. Oh and The Mom show.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No one.

26. What was the best book you read?
The Children's Hospital

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Illinois.

28. What did you want and get?
A tattoo

29. What did you want and not get?
For my Patriots coworkers to shut up (it could still happen)

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
So far, No Country For Old Men. Shit was hot.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Went out to dinner early, then spent rest of night alone with 2.5 bottles of wine. Oh 25 glorious years.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I don't know, wings? tough question.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
More flannel

34. What kept you sane?
Friends that still like me.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Natalie Portman's bum bum.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The war.

37. Who did you miss?
Pittsburgh

38. Who was the best new person you met?
That would be TK. Dude's a fine cigar.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
Go for it.

Body modification

I haven't posted in a while, but honestly, nothing that exciting has happened. My sister got a teaching internship at a high school just south of Boston, so she is living with me until December. She moved in last week, which is pretty cool. We haven't lived in the same house since we were both in high school in CT, so its nice to spend time with her. I leave her little notes around the house that say "Dear Katie, if this place isn't fucking spotless by the time I get home, you're OUT. Love, Craig" So she knows I appreciate her.

My new truck is pretty rad. I go on Sunday drives to parts of MA that I've never been to before. Last week I went to a farm/winery in Ipswich and bought some dandelion wine, plum wine and raspberry wine. Plus some fresh veggies and herbs. It was pretty great. Year round, they have different fruit pickings, ie, apple, raspberry, corn (not a fruit I know). Right now is blueberry season, but you know what? Fuck blueberries.

On Friday, the guy below me threw a huge party. Beer pong, flip cup, kings, the works. Its been a long long time since I went to one of those parties and while I had a killer time, it made me miss the Pittsburgh crew and the balls to the walls-ness we all can bring. Some white-hat dude on my flip cup team starting calling me Paulie so that stuck for the night. I called him Fenwick. We're BFFs now.

Then yesterday I got my first tattoo. I love the fucking thing and want more. I was pretty nervous going into it, but once I sat down and the needle touched my skin I was fine. Its the anticipation that kills you more than anything. I went to a small tattoo shop in Cambridge, and while I probably wouldn't go back to them if I wanted a picture or something, I got text and it turned out great. The tattoo guy said I did pretty well in the chair, as in, I didn't flinch much. He said when he saw me that he thought I would "puss out." I am all that is man. Click on the link to see the picture. And my awesome pit hair.

Well now that I write it all out, I guess I did do a lot of things.

Mo' Good Newz!

I just sold my car!! I'm super excited right now. My car was awful, just a shit box. As in Hans Von Volkswagon ate a ton of peanuts and corn and shat in his loafer box and then molded it into a vehicle. A vehicle I purchased in 2000. Here are some details:
- 1994 VW Golf, Manual, 132k miles
- Passenger side door doesn't open from outside
- Hatchback doesn't open at all
- Rear seatbelts do not function.
- Needs new exhaust system and front brakes
- Oh and 4 melted crayons on the passenger seat.

I've been trying to get a new car for a few weeks now, so I posted on Craig's List at 3pm today and sold it at 6:30 tonight. Yes! $350!! Hahahaha. (Dealerships told me I could get maybe $100 at an auction for it, but it costs that much just to take the car there...)

I'm buying a new 2007 Toyota Tacoma on Saturday. I've already put down a deposit on it. I'm super stoked, as it's my first new car ever. Epsilon is coming up money lately.

Best Of 2006

Yeah, this took me a little bit longer than I thought. It comes down to laziness. But here it is, so do with it what you will. The Arctic Monkeys song is only on there because of the lyric "Theres only music so that there's new ringtones." I love it. They got some ridiculous hype in 2006, not really deserved, but the album did have some choice lyrics that only sarcastic, cynical and cocky 19 year olds could write. For that reason alone I applaud them.

Craig Rudewicz's B.O. 2006

I start my new job on Monday and I'm excited about it. Its something completely new for me and its definitely a step up from me. I think it gives me about 4% more adult-ness. And for me thats a huge fucking step. Although, just today I was cleaning up the coffee table and found an old scrap of paper that I had written "poopies" on for no apparent reason and I giggled. I think that deducts adult percentage points from my average. But fuck it, poopies is some funny stuff. I'm laughing now.

Ok duders, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to go watch Can't Hardly Wait. Oh yea.

Hey all. Its been another long while since I did this. Too long actually to fill everyone in on the fun/fucking-stupid/professional/crazy/boring things I have done in the past few months. But this is exciting and you all should know about it:

+ Just found out I got a new job today. I'm going to be an IT Auditor, which means I go into offices and test the security of the networks there and recommend how to make them more secure. I actually know how to do this a little, in case you were wondering. What this means for me is regular 9-5 hours, no weekends and a HELL of a lot more money. I'm fucking stoked about it. I start on January 15th. Plus there is some travel involved, mostly around the country but just last week they had a job in Puerto Rico...

+ Trying to get myself more structured. I've lost sight of some things but I think I can correct it and I'm on my way.

+ Compiling a Best of 2006 mix for all of you. Zack, we got yours the other day and I must say I agree with all choices. Kudos on the liner notes blog. I'll probably be emailing mine out because I don't have many cds left...

+ I will say this though, The Hold Steady's Boys and Girls in America is my favorite album of '06. It's fuckin rockin, and while there can be some criticism said that there is an unusual trend of new albums sounding like Springsteen throwbacks, I think its WAY better than continuing on with everything sounding like Franz Ferdinand/Killers/dance-new wave-80s-80s-80s-glampop. Seriously, "Citrus" has everything I want in a song about drinking: sexiness, desperation, love and a good sense of fluid drunkeness. Its perfect.

Later fuckers.

It's been a while. Let me try to sort the past few months out for all of you. We will do it pictographically because I am lazy.

I went white water rafting in the beginning of June on a body of water called the Dead River.. It was kick ass and I didn't even fall out once.

Mini-Epsilon reunion in the middle of June. I fell down.

My friend Lindsay had her bachelorette party and I was invited because to most women I'm sexually null and void. I did a strip tease down to Superman undies. Yes that's money coming out the side.

Lindsay's wedding was the first weekend in August. A lot of fun, and the whole wedding party was shut off at the hotel bar later in the night. Including the bride and groom. I got even by smashing funnybones into the lobby porch with my foot. In the pyramid picture you can see Allison in the background about to be thrown on top.

My dad gave me a shoebox full of old slides of his family so I could scan and print them out. This is one of my favorites of my grandparents.

Also, I re-cut the movie AI. I think it really is a well done film at its core, so I removed the ridiculous shitbag parts like Dr. Know, most of professor Hobby and the lame ass ending where the future robo-aliens come in and use their powers to have some weird voyeuristic android/human incest festival. I think I did a good job editing it and I've watched it a few times now. I'm beginning another project with a bunch of movies that I hope will work out.

At the end of the month a theatre down the road from us is hosting a midnight R. Kelly singlong. They will show the entire Trapped in the Closet on the big screen with the words and a bouncing ball at the bottom! I've already secured tickets and I can't wait. I'm hoping its like a midnight showing of Rocky Horry Picture Show. I call dressing up as Rosy the Nosy Neighbor. Or that wicked sleazy cop that fucks everything.

I hope do do this more often

SNAKES ON A PLANE UPDATE

Like all of our updates in the past few months, here is the weekly S.O.A.P. real-time RSS feed!

Jackson's Snake Film Creates Huge Buzz
Samuel L. Jackson's new mile-high thriller Snakes On A Plane has created such a buzz among internet film fans, movie bosses have called for re-shoots - to give the film a tougher rating. The film, which stars Jackson as an FBI agent trying to keep a federal witness alive onboard a plane full of snakes, wrapped last September - but went back before the cameras earlier this month for five days of additional shooting. Film bosses at distributor New Line Cinema opted to add new scenes to the film to take the movie from PG-13 into R-rated territory, according to industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter. They claim the second round of filming became necessary after intense and growing fan interest in the film, which is scheduled to be released this summer. Among the reported additions to the film is a foul-mouthed rant from Jackson in which his agent character bellows, "I want these motherf**king snakes off the motherf**king plane!" The line is expected to take on cult status. The film-makers have reportedly added more gore, more deaths, more nudity and more snakes to the finished product.

an update for once.

- I've been listening to my iPod on shuffle a lot recently. Not sure what that means, but everytime I do, "I Adore Mi Amor" by Color Me Badd ALWAYS plays. It's weird. I enjoy C.M.B but out of the 3500 songs I have, how does that one song constantly appear on the playlist? I should speak with the iGod I guess.

- I've been listening to Liars second album, They Were Wrong... I remember reviewing it for the station and hating it, but I really like it now. I want to go back and write another review. I think its underrated, and it's actually really great noisey stuff. I went out today and bought their new album, I hope its good.

- The job has been OK. Real busy lately, and sometimes I think people doust themselves with douche before coming to check in just so they can be extra annoying for me. But my friend there got promoted to manager so my schedule will be pretty nice soon because he likes me the best. I get paid well and for the past few months I have not had to worry about money at all. I do what I want and buy things when I want them (that sounds so rebellious!) so its nice. I've met a good group of people there and we hang out a lot. I'm still the "indie" boy to them with weird interests but overall their collective sense of humor is something I can mesh with. I mean we started talking about outrageous sexual positions like The Dirty Sanchez and The Walrus, and I brought up the Shrinky Dink Shit Mask. Nobody spoke for a minute but they laughed. I think they're embarrased to find it so funny. God, that night we made that stuff up was ridiculous.

- Like she mentioned, Allison and I are looking for a new place to move into for June 1st. We're definitely going to find a bigger place which means that the next get together should take place in Boston. Yes, I'm lazy, I don't want to go anywhere. Fuckers.

- I've also decided to cut out all meat from my diet. Not much of a change as all I eat now are fucking Cheezits and apple juice. Is there a specific name for that? Cheezitarinism? Yea, that's what I am. I OWE MY LIFE TO BIG CHEEZITS.

The rappers, who won Best Original Song for "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" from the movie Hustle & Flow, have made their Oscar statuette an official member of their entourage. The rap group rolled up to hot spot Lobby last Thursday and were told only four people would be allowed per table, because the club was already crowded. One of the group's members pulled the statue out of a paper bag and asked, "This little man count?" A source tells American publication Us Weekly, "Mr. Oscar sat on prime club real-estate, neatly placed on the centre of the group's table, surrounded by gazers observing that glowing complexion in awe."

They carry it in a paper bag. That's the best.

I Got Drunk.

So yes. I did. Real drunk.
Allison and I went out with some hotel friends where we were wupposed to go have some drinks and then go ice skating in the Boston Commons. We did one of those things. I didn't eat anything all day and then I just drank and drank and drank.
So about the almost killing a baby's momma...
She works at the hotel with me and we've hung out before, she's real cool. She jumped on my back for a piggy back and I started to walk across the street like that. In the middle of the street I tripped on my own feet and threw her from my back into oncoming traffic! She landed right in front of a cab and I fell flat on my face tearring my jeans and ripping my knee open. She's alright, no cuts or anything, but I have my knee, a small cut above my eye and a fat lip. It's amazing. I felt awful but she got right up and ran, but she was laughing which is a good sign. Let's see if she talks to me on Monday.

Dead baby mommas are not good. They need to stay alive.

I'm watching Last Call with Carson Daly (shut up).

Carson just dissed Simple Plan. Or worthless? Man, Simple Plan you got to get it together. Fuckin' Carson dissed you. CARSON DALY.

After he finished with his diss, Carson said "Let's welcome the house band tonight, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy!"

Simple Plan: Dude fuckin trashes you and then basically says, "Clap for a shit 90's neo-swing band!" Wow that sucks.

Last Days

I went out and purchased Last Days by Gus Van Sant. I was worried about what it would turn out to be, but I purchased Elephant without first viewing it, and, while I did not enjoy it, I respected what Van Sant tried to do with Gerry.

All I can say is watch Last Days.
I don't want to talk about it here, I'd rather talk about it with
people who have seen it. All I will say is that the film respects the
legacy of Cobain, and does not try to explain anything about him. What
I liked was the fact that the film showed only the last few days of
Blake, the fictional character representing Cobain, without trying to
show why he was the way he was. It shows only the depression, the
fatigue, the lonliness of his last days. Plus Kim Gordon is in it as a
record executive, which is funny, and she's given some of the few lines of good dialogue.

I would like to speak to someone about this film because Lucas Haas
plays a character so similar to Rivers Cuomo that is can't be a
coincidence. Rivers wants to be honored like Cobain, that the
similarities in the film have to be full of purpose.

I did not want to like this film, but the way it was filmed shows only
the depression. It does not try to glamorize or place Cobain in a light
of celebrity. Three fourths of the film you can hardly understand what
the Cobain character is saying.

Watch it. Then please comment about it. I would love to hear what you think about it and the characters within the film.
